No List

No List is the home for Tasks that live at the top level, without a List or Space. These Tasks are still fully organized: they can have a Plan, Deadline, Tags, Dependencies, and a repeating schedule. Open No List to see them together.

Tasks in No List are not the same as Tasks in the Inbox. The Inbox is a collection of Tasks with a ruleset that determines whether they have yet to be organized. Once they’re assigned a Plan or marked Someday, they’re automatically moved out of the Inbox. On the other hand, Tasks in No List can live there completely independent of parent ownership and have no actionable rules attached to them.

Use No List when a Task does not need a larger project or area around it. You can move the Task into a List or Space later if it grows into something more structured.
